Thai Kozo Mulberry is Smooth, Semi-Translucent Bone-Tan color.
Process: We soak our Thai Kozo Mulberry for 24 hours. We cook the fiber with Soda Ash, we clean it. Once the fiber is soft we cut the fiber down into smaller pieces, then we Hand-Beat the Thai Kozo Mulberry fiber using mallets. After we Hand-Beat, we introduce a short beat using a Reina Hollander beater to tease and spread the fiber out more loosely. Our sheets are then pulled individually by hand, couched, pressed in a hydraulic press and finally restraint dried. Each of our sheets of paper have deckle edges and are internally sized.
Fiber: Thai Kozo a bark fiber related to the Mulberry family, that is specifically from Thailand. Mulberry is one of the longest Hand Papermaking fibers grown, traditionally used to create extremely strong, long and flexible sheets of paper. Our Thai Kozo sheets are great for book making, calligraphy, printmaking and even lighting.
