Workshop Description:
Pulp Painting is the process of “painting” with only paper pulps! By applying finely beaten pigmented cotton pulp to the surface of a base sheet of wet, pulled paper. In this workshop, we will learn how to use different tools and techniques to manipulate the finely pigmented pulp to create imagery in a painterly fashion.
During the workshop we will learn how to make stencils to create sharp, crisp, and repeatable imagery. Other tools we will learn to use with the fine pulp are spray bottles, squeeze bottles, and syringes. In the process we will play with pulp transparency variation, as well as layering and building up textures. We recommend bringing in sketches and ideas for your work as this will help you get straight into making!
Saturday July 18, 2026 from 10:00am – 4:00pm
All skill levels, beginners to advanced.
